Paul Potts has been an internet phenomenon. I only just discovered him today and was looking to see who else wrote about him. I found a good blog here that said pretty much what I would have said.
Wow! I am amazed and inspired at what humanity can be. As much as I think shows like "American Idol" is just about the fame seekers and popularity contests, I realize that diamonds do have to come from a pile of coal.

20071009 Feelings
"... People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." - Maya Angelou
I believe that quote and center it about my essence.
It reminds me a scene in a book I read where this little girl was afraid of the woods she was traveling through. Her travel companion, a big buff, armed forest ranger of a man, confidently said to her, "you are too ugly to eat." Though other people nearby gasped at such a mean comment, the little girl giggled and felt so much better. The reason was not the words or the action, it was the confidence behind the juxtaposition of such an insult as the rationale for why the ranger was not worried. And if he was not worried, then she did not have to either.
Later on during their adventures, the little girl was sad because she had no one to go home to. The ranger looked at her with a mischeivous grin and said, "you know, I have many ugly children at home. Another one won't be noticed. And this time, I will be the one to surprise my wife with another addition to the horde of ugly ducklings." She felt like someone cared.

20070909 It's a Jungle out there
There is a place in Campbell that is called "The Jungle", where kids have a two story of netted maze with ballpits and wobbly wooden rope bridges. Basically an enlarged Chucky Cheese for the kids to burn off their energy. And for the big adults, I got to throw my god-daughter Vilina into smaller ballpit of the Under-3-year-old area. Fun!

20070908 Ghiradelli Chocolate Festival

when hell freezes over
when monkeys fly out of my butt
I use to have one,
when Vaishnavi has too much chocolate...
However, at the chocolate festival, Vaishnavi shocked me when she said the melted chocolate drink was too chocolate-ly for her. My eyes opened wide, my mouth gaped, and my whole universe was turned upside down... no way, too much chocolate?
